$4,000 a month is insane! My husband is a professor and makes around $100K a year. Our house payment is just over $900.00 a month and even with H's good salary, we still struggle. How much would you be bringing in monthly between you & your H? After taxes & deductions for health insurance, I mean, which takes up a HUGE amount of monthly income. And even with healthcare insurance, any time I've needed a psych hospitalization, the cost has been $1000-$2000 a pop. Then, there's copays for the pdoc, medications, etc. LIfe also throws you unexpected emergencies; for example, one time, I had to have surgery due to a health emergency, that ended up costing over $7000. And dental emergencies aren't cheap either. I recently needed a root canal and that was $1000 easily even with dental insurance and they expected full payment the day services were rendered.
You do need to consider your mental health. It seems I remember you posting about struggling recently on this forum without the stressors of a job. I am not saying you can't do it if you put your mind to it, but that you need to weigh what your care team advises very thoroughly. Going to school and turning in assignments on time (having deadlines) is extremely stressful even for students without mental health issues. Same with holding a job.
