This is an instance where this person's poor and unprofessional behavior is being excused and brushed under the rug, while you are being called out for standing up for yourself with her. This is not fair and is very often the case. Whistle blowers typically get in trouble and a target is put on your back once you point out to a higher up that another colleague's behavior bothers you and is inappropriate and/or out of line. I would have handled it the same as you. Unfortunately, these types of people get away with their crappy behaviors with management. Just keep your head down, get your work done, and ride out the next few months by trying not to let this person get under your skin. Let it slide off your back, and pretend it doesn't bother you. I wouldn't say anything further to management. It's futile and useless. Clearly, they desire to defend her rather than reprimand her. It's unfortunate, but this is so very common. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. At least your contract has an end and you can move onto somewhere hopefully better!
