I’m surprised there aren’t more reports of this nature, given the ease with which they can be purchased.
We occasionally get them over our area, and the noise really irritates me. We’re only a small local area though, and someone usually posts a moan on the local Facebook group and it usually turns out to be someone taking aerial photographs to try to sell.
Other than the irritating noise, and the fact that I wouldn’t particularly want one failing in mid flight and causing some damage, I can’t say I can be bothered to get too worked up over them.
I wouldn’t be very happy if one was buzzing by a window on my property., but in terms of being used for surveillance, we are already at a time when we are the most monitored society ever to live - and most of the information we provide freely on social media. I dread to think how many CCTV cameras, dashcams, door bell cameras, etc., I appear on when I take even a short journey around my local area. I can’t see it changing any time soon.
I can see it’s a bigger headache for government and private facilities that don’t want people snooping or compromising their day to day routines.
