This offers new hope for many people whose insurance would not pay for weight loss medications to reduce obesity. Now, if you have OSA (obstructive sleep apnea), something that most people with obesity suffer from and especially older people, your insurance would be required to pay given that there is this new indication for the drug. Insurance companies usually take about 2 months to upgrade their formularies based on new FDA approvals. So in early 2025 they will start covering Zepbound. Zepbound is basically Mounjaro.
