I had to look it up; I've just always referred to it as a mixed state. Nothing really helped with it though except perhaps time and med adjustments. The only positive thing about it for me is that one way or the other it eventually ends. Though when it ends in depression, that's even worse. I suppose if you have a T you can work on it in therapy? I have given up on therapy a long, long time ago for myself though.
