Could it be that your girlfriend and these ladies (not sure whose friends they are) crave some “girl nights” (as you said it yourself) and might occasionally enjoy each others’ company without men present? Do you and your girlfriend have any social time apart or you are always together?

There are some women who just have to have a man all the time. But most do enjoy female company at least on occasion.
