Dewed, your not gonna like diabetes. Until you are diagnosed, you might find it easy to lose weight because you are "dumping sugar" in your urine. Metformin works against this because it helps your body process sugar, which means use it for energy, not just dump it, in which case if not used it gets turned to fat. Since i started insulin, my "easy" weight loss stopped immediately and i gained back weight. I am just trying to figure out what i can eat that satisfies hunger and my kitchen restraints and my not wanting to eat beef which makes my joints hurt. Its a pain.
And of course the need for cookies, coffee, and chocolate. My dad used to tell the story about his grandmother who had a stroke and was told to stop drinking wine. She did for a little while, then said life was not worth living without her wine and started drinking again. After which she lived a pretty long time, i dont remember.
