My gp wanted me to go on Mirena again for heavy periods. I had it years ago and it did work quite well. My periods were so light and I hardly had them. But I was too chicken to get it inserted again. You can always look into menstrual cups but I found they made such a mess. All depends on your comfort zone I guess.
