I will never forget one evening when I was trying to get Izzy into the barn before a thunder storm hit. She was out in the large turnout arena in front of the barn. I had driven up there with "enough" time to get her inside before the storm was supposed to hit (she hated being inside). I walked to the gate & she decided that the far end of the arena UNDER the power pole was where she wanted to be. Rain started as I was walking down to her with the lead rope. She was playing hard to get. We were both getting drenched. THEN, a loud crack of lightning went into the ground on the next door farm about 150 ft away as I watched. She came right to me at that point & we were both running to the barn for safety. She was never difficult to get inside after that.
