I had one cat that loved riding in the car. This was good because I lived 10 hours away from my family at the time and so we had long rides for holidays. The first time we did it I gave her a lot of catnip and after that she seemed to think car rides were associated with feeling reallllllllllly good . I just had to have an audiobook playing. She didn't like music and she didn't like it if I stopped the book so I could take a bathroom break.
