My male manager is rude & disrespectful to me. I have worked hard at my current company for almost a year.
He has lashed out at me almost everytime he talked to me on the phone. He’s careful to not be a total prick on texts.
I hate him. The first time I got lost at an apartment complex. He started acting irritated that I didn’t understand the directions & he told me to contact this other lady.
Then later he was rude & condescending when I was still lost. He said the place is easy to find & that he found it easily the first time he was there. He almost wrote me up for that since I was running late . Jerk.
Other people have gotten lost there too. I don’t understand what his problem is. I was never rude or disrespectful to him & I was always a good & reliable employee too.
He has been rude to some other people too including a client. The client & a coworker overheard him being rude to me recently on speaker & they said he was rude to me.
He is rude to a few people, but he is respectful to people he likes. My coworker said that he was never rude to him. Same with this other lady.
I never said anything about this, but I should of a long time ago. I think that maybe he is mad at me still because I was reassigned to a different client twice.
With the first one, he thought we’d be a good fit. He was wrong. The client had a lot of issues that I have no experience dealing with.
She has high functioning autism. She had a few autistic meltdowns when I was with her. She kicked me out of her apartment one time because she thought that I was judging her.
Then the second one lashed out at me once too. She treated me like a servant & demanded that I clean her place & she also said that she wanted a new caregiver as I never talked to her which isn’t true.
She was crazy & unreasonable. She was expecting me to entertain her, ugh.
When I told him what happened, he was rude & dismissive & said that I’m ‘to sensitive’ & that I need to grow a thick skin.
He said that these people have mental health issues. I understand that, but that doesn’t give them the right to be abusive.
They DO know better than that, but sometimes it does seem like they use their disability as an excuse to be rude.
My new clients are calm & easy to deal with. The other day he was even meaner to me when I politely asked him before I was going to clock out if he could contact the client to come back to his apartment.
He went out to smoke. I didn’t want to leave the door unlocked. He threw a hissy fit & was like, why the hell would I tell him to come back from a smoke break? Wth? Rude!
I was mad, but I calmly told him that I didn’t want to leave the door unlocked. Another time he accused me of interrupting him when I couldn’t hear him that well on the phone,
He is a nasty jerk & I hate him. Thankfully I rarely hear from him. I mostly communicate with the other manager who is calm, nice & respectful.
Why is he so mean to me? What can I say to him w/o setting him off? I never spoke up because I want to keep my job.
I was worried that he’d retaliate by cutting my hours if I ever tried to stick up for myself.
He makes the schedule & so does the other manager. Idk if this is relevant or not, but one nasty manager who just quit was usually rude to me too.
Both of their attitudes changed once I started having issues with the clients.
I did my best with no training. They are unreasonable. The nasty one who quit is on friendly terms with the client who first lashed out at me.
That client badmouthed me to her. She told me she told that former manager about something personal I told her when she was asked how things were going with me.
She told her that I was in debt. Wth? That has nothing to do with my job. I should’ve never trusted her as she is a huge gossip.
I’d appreciate any suggestions on what I can say or do to get the main manager to treat me with respect.
That might never happen as he is always stressed out, sleep deprived & he says he hasn’t had a day off in over a year.
He sounds like he’s angry & bitter & taking out his frustration on people he thinks he can get away with abusing.
He’s also a bit rude & unprofessional. He sometimes badmouths the clients. He called two of them entitled & then he mentioned he thought two clients were gay & how he thinks that something sexual happened between them. Wth? lol.
Once I leave the company one day for a better job, I will file a complaint with H.R & corporate. He needs to be told that this behavior is unacceptable,
