I would not say that I'm recovered but rather through luck and a lot of hard work, I've been granted a remission from the insanity that was my life when I was drinking. I now see recovery as a journey that involves finding out more about who I really am, and learning new ways of dealing with problems rather than running from them, and learning new ways of interacting with people. It's not an easy journey, but it's one of the most worthwhile things I've done with a lot of support from a lot of great people.
If you're looking specifically for non 12 step support, you might want to check out smartrecovery.org They have a lot of on-line resources as well as forums much like PC for support in getting clean / sober.
