I have to admit smart scales are tempting to me, but I don't think H would be happy if he saw our bathroom scale replaced with a smart scale. I have read that while smart scales are accurate for weight (probably also BMI), their other accuracies vary and are not to be relied upon except more as keeping track of an overall trend. Factors like hydration can play into the other body composition measurements, and I know there are mornings when I wake up dehydrated because I'm so thirsty, so it wouldn't be a good investment for me overall. I think the DEXA scan is still considered most accurate for measurements like body fat percentage or lean muscle mass percentage.
