Head zaps are quite common when discontinuing an SSRI or SNRI. I've been on and off a half dozen times. I find it easier to quit than to start. When you start you are typically seriously depressed and the meds make it worse for a couple of weeks. Some people can't tolerate that, hence the suicide warning on the label.
