I can tap the keys and make chords on a piano, and play a major scale in any key, but I don't know how to play either.
I played bass guitar (mostly), which is similar to piano in that you have wirewound strings made from metal stretched across a wood "frame." But with the bass, well, it's more intimate. She's in your lap and you embrace her, feel differences in the vibrations. Some notes she sings out gladly; others she provides begrudgingly.
