I'm going to say, COMPLETELY normal, and more so depending on what occurred in your marriage.
I've been separated for almost 2.5 years now. I haven't been on a date yet. I'm scared of everything: how to fit into someone else's life, how they fit into mine, how it affects my kids or their kids, the baggage I have, the baggage they have, being vulnerable to someone again.... Nope. Can't do it.
I had a disordered spouse.... There was a lot of drama. Now there's peace. My desire to be partnered with someone hasn't surpassed my desire for peace.
Others on here have had excellent dating experiences. In real life, a long time friend and co-worker of mine left a 25 year marriage 3 years ago and now is partnered with a long term person that he is planning his retirement around.
If you're ready to go for it, go for it. It can be as committal or non-committal as you want.
