Going off of your example here:

Do you have to remember a person to be friends with them? Because wether you do or don't doesn't chnge that moment in the past. I would like to consider myself a friendly person, but I don't remember things like names and faces well at all, so I could have a friend for months but still not remember their name, or say, if I lost contact with someone that I had been friends with for years and when I meet them again it takes a little bit to recognize them...if at all. It's not that I don't care, or that I'm only using people for my own benefit and pretending to be their friend... I just remember people well. </font>
