Oh, I definitely understand. One reason I never rode Izzy after I finally got her here. 17.3 hands & alone, I didn't figure it was safe even though she was well trained & only allowed her to be ridden by excelent riders while she was in Calif. I have had major breaks coming off horses from a fractured hip to a compression fracture of my lower back & living alone like you, I can't afford any major injuries at my age. Only reason I still trail ride is that my friend has a wonderful bomb proof gaited horse & the few times he tested me he found out it didn't work & all has gone smoothly since then. Not sure I would want to go back to dressage at this point or even buy a horse again though a cute donkey may be a future consideration if I get fencing done around the fields. So much higher priority repairs need done to the house right now it puts everything else on the back burner & injuries are not allowed. I have been dealing with asthma this last month (first time in 21 years) & it has really messed with my energy. I don't have time or energy for injuries. Lol....but trippin over my crazy 70 lb Aussie who lays in the middle of my kitchen floor is always a challenge too....& he gets so insulted if I accidentally step on him & will get up & jump on me for doing it.
