You can work certain number of hours and not lose benefits. Who tells you not to work? Work is always a good idea.
Getting off benefits is good too if one can make enough to live on. Otherwise it might not be wise.
I don’t think mountains is talking about getting off benefits. He used to have a part time job but stopped due to health problems
