Checking in. Called the imaging center this morning for cancellations and was seen today. Suspected lobular breast carcinoma on the left side. The radiologist said that what she sees on imaging now definitely was not present on the Dec 2024 mammogram. So if it is cancer, we have caught it early. Next step is a biopsy, on Thursday, and then 1-2 weeks to receive its results. But already a breast surgeon was recommended to me (both by the radiologist and the ultrasound technologist). I will see the OB-GYN who ordered the MRI on Wed and ask for a referral to the breast surgeon, so that if biopsy shows cancer, I can be aggressive with treatment. I understand that the initial treatment can be successful, but with this particular cancer, it can lie dormant and reappear somewhere else in the body in 10 years. So it would be like living on a volcano. But I keep telling myself that in 10 years, science and treatment options will be more advanced than now, and there might be more hope. This is definitely all a new territory for me.
Did not do any exercise today except for walking around the hospital from one office to another.
