" non-sex herpes"
There are two strains of the herpes virus, HSV1 and HSV2. I think HSV1 was initially identified by oral transmission, and HSV2 genital transmission,
but cross contamination does occur due to oral sexual practices. The CDC says 47.8% of the US population tests positive for HSV. Johns Hopkins says 50-80%
of adults have acquired the virus. Some people feel a warning symptom prior to an outbreak which can give time to take an anti viral such as
Valacyclovir which
will lessen severity and duration of the outbreak. It really doesn't matter which strain you may have.
