Near practical as socks I say. You may not need one every day but they're a functional thing. I'm 64 and I use 'em when needed. Worn them on and off since childhood and the situation remains the same. Handy piece of kit as they say. Kangaroo sweaters they were called when I was a kid and always they were thick 100% cotton. I look for old vintage sweatshirts and hoodies in thrift stores all the time. Comfortable!
