I am reading "Shrinks The Untold Story of Psychiatry." In the past, people like me, with a major psychiatric illness, were inmates in asylums, iron-chained, beaten, and forced into cold baths. I came away from reading the book with a renewed appreciation of modern medicine and my current life and stable mood.
