If you can afford a little extra spend, I recommend getting a DEXA scan now to establish your baseline and then get another one 6 months later. The goal is not to lose muscle while on semaglutide. Being a couch potato exposes you to the risk of muscle loss and you want to counteract that. So weightlifting, body weight exercises, resistance training will be your friends. Semaglutide does not itself cause muscle loss, but it causes weight loss and if you are not careful about how that weight loss proceeds, it may proceed as muscle loss.
Thank you. This is a lot of good information to have going into this journey. Yes. I plan to try not to be a couch potato. I’ve just been depressed and tired lately as I’m going thru a custody battle for my child up against a narcissist. I guess that’s another thread for another day on another part of this forum but I do plan to incorporate more movement as I embark on this journey.
