That does sound unsettling, especially with her knocking on your window and ringing the doorbell unexpectedly. It’s understandable that you’d feel on edge not knowing what she’s up to.

It’s good that your mom is going to check in and see what she wants, since that way you’re not dealing with it alone. If her behavior keeps being disruptive or makes you feel unsafe, you may want to keep a record of what happens (times, what she does, etc.) in case it escalates.

Sometimes neighbors who act erratically may be going through personal struggles, but that doesn’t mean you have to tolerate behavior that crosses boundaries or feels threatening. If things get worse, you and your mom might consider talking to the landlord, property manager, or even local authorities if it becomes a safety concern.

For now, try to let your mom handle the interaction, and give yourself permission to rest without feeling like you have to solve it all.
