One would not be a true human if they didn't sense or care about how they affect those around them, and how they affect the world as a whole. With that said, we can not do service to any dream or care if we allow it to become too personal.
It's good to care. It's not good to care "too" much. If we take to heart too much or too many things we become unusable, unable to put any feet to our cares.
It's important to take note of our past errs, but not carry them forward with regret. Review, repent, don't repeat, and recharge to seek better. Take on only those things we are able to do something about. Leave the rest to those who can take those other things on. Spreading ourselves too thin accomplishes nothing good and lasting.
Past regrets can weight us down unless we not only ask forgiveness, but are able to move on whether we receive it or not. The noticing of the err, and the pledge to do better is enough in that respect.
The only One who truly accepts the heartfelt request for forgiveness gratefully is the only One to whom it really matters.
