Sky that ip prob is a load of huey. There are two types of IPs...a standard IP and what is known as IPv6. While vista and various other OS's can use IPv6 no other version of windows can handle it. Earthlink, AOL, cable, etc are not using IPv6 at this point. Which means it is not an IP issue. As for issues with Anti-Virus. Avast is the only one to use. AVG generally crashes a computer and Norton and McAfee I love as a technician becuase I make so much money removing the viri they let thru. Best of luck to you. Dump the Restore if not done. Grab your original Disk and trash the whole system putting Vista back on fresh and go from there.
