When I started with the T I have now, ( I had been dx'ed by another T ) first thing he did was give me a copy of a booket called, " Can I Look Now? Recovery from Multiple Personality Disorder". It's just 33 pages long and just kind of goes over the stages you go through after being dx'ed as MPD. Sometimes I'll look back through it and say yeah that's where I am now. And I know that what I'm going through is just normal while in T. I also have one of the books on the book list. " The Multiple's Guild to Harmonized Family Living: A Healthy Alternative or Prelude to Integration". I really like this book, but it was hard for me to get a hold of. I ordered it from Barnes and Noble a few years ago and it took me a few MONTHS to get it since it is out of print. It has parts to help to find a T that's right for you. And also have chapters on working with your alters during a crisis, to help child alters express themselves. It can be some what triggering in parts. But I put the book down and come back to it when I feel better. This is a good book to have if you can find it, And it's not very long. I can't sit for very long and read anything, but I can make my way through this book when I need to.
