Nightbird raises her hand!!!! me, me, I survived some horrible stuff too.
I know what it feels like to hang on for dear life because you don't know why you are here at all, and no answer comes when you feel you need it most, and no one is there.
So you sit on the steps outside of a church one night - wondering why you were even born.
And still ... nothing.
So, you put one foot in front of the other and walk.
You walk until you figure out someplace you need to be, a job, maybe, find a new place to live maybe, you keep walking until you can hold your head up.
When you hold you head up, it proves you can make it further. Without back-tracking, you are walking ahead.
We walk with our heads up, not on our hands and legs crawling, begging to live anymore, because we have already survived this by walking to our new life, our new choices, our new people, our new responsibilities.
We can't look back because we are going in the other direction now!
We are walking with our heads up, our hearts open, and our minds assuring us we are survivors.
That is the start of self-esteem for many of us.
It starts with walking.
love and everything simple,
night
