I started smoking when I was in the 7th grade and was smoking a pack a day by the 8th grade (I am 34 now). I have tried many many times to quit. I tried cold turkey, didn't work. I tried the patches when they first came out and you had to have a prescription for them, they didn't work. I tried Zyban, that worked for about 1 month and then I was back to smoking again. April 2007 I got a 30 day subscrtion for Chantix. I had a relapse in May 2007 that lasted 1 week. Ever since then I have been smoke free. It was the best thing I have ever tried. It is still very hard and I still think about smoking. It still smells soooo good but I know 1 cigs would do me in and I have gone way to long to throw that all away. I quit not only for myself but for my son also. I knew that by me smoking, that it was that much more likely that he would start smoking also. I didn't want that to happen. As the saying goes, Never Quit Quiting!
