I have IBS... and when it decides to act up I too go from being constipated to having diarrhea and back again... some times it is all happens with in the same day or even with in the same hour... especially after eating Chinese Food (and I love Chinese Food).

Symptoms:

Abdominal pain or cramping
A bloated feeling
Gas (flatulence)
Diarrhea or constipation — sometimes alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhea
Mucus in the stool
