I am reluctant to post about this topic, but I have some things to say.
I have a friend who goes for "readings" regularly, goes to psychic fairs, visits meditaiton groups. I accepted one of her invitations to go for a reading, and the fella was "good," in that he was doing what is called a "cold reading," asking lots of questions till he hit on something which I acknowledged. I really think you have to be wary of these people who claim to have insights such as this.

Now, here, with great trepidation, I'm going to share with you someting I experienced as an adolescent. I was at church camp, in prayer on my cabin bunk, and I felt a great warm presence at the lower left side of my bed (describing this as accurately as I can without embellishments)....and my spirit was lifted out of my body to levitate above. It frightened me, and I was gently lowered back into my body. It was a very physical experience, and it happened two nights in a row. After that I spent a lot of time weeping. Returning home from camp, for about a week, I heard a voice at night...not my voice, but someone wise saying things I could have had no knowledge of. Was this what they call "channeling?" I tried to hold onto it, but my mother was so antagonistic, sensing my state of mind, it disappeared. This was the most profound experience of my live, and I'm 57 now. I have tried to regain this at times, but to no avail. Was I brainwashed? Was I delusional, and all in my mind (as the last man I dated, the Psych. PH.D. commented before rejecting me?) I shouldn't have revealed that to him. He said it was all in my brain, brain chemistry, you know.
Anyway, there it is. Maybe i shouldn't be sharing this. I think there are people who can be bestowed with such gifts, but they have to be so pure in their intentioins. and the world really doesn't allow that.
