they have to be so pure in their intentioins. and the world really doesn't allow that.

would it help if one were able rise above his or her earthly concerns? often i hear the advice to 'step out' of the problem and see the whole picture... i often hear of thinking about the impossible... one saying goes :

'Some men dream the impossible and ask why? i dream the impossible and ask 'why not'?'

(author unknown)

in other words, we never want to say something is impossible... remember 'never say never'?

This might come across as a big ramble..

I don't think its IMPOSSIBLE to go into something with pure intentions, however i do feel that its VERY easy for intentions to be influenced by what we THINK we need or want.

I find a good way to come from a place of compassion is to stop thinking in terms of "I" and "them" and instead envision that really we are all one, and that there really is no seperation between "us" and "them" - basically we see the world as dualistic, we are always relating to things in terms of "I" and "that"(whatever "that" is be it an object, person, anything in reality). I try to meditate on non dualism and I truly beilve that we are all connected, and so i make the choice whenever I can to treat everyone as I would wish to be treated. And I also try and remember that there are two types of pure compassion - One i will call "idiot compassion" and one I will call "pure compassion"

Idiot compassion is basically enabling - like if an addict on the street asked you for money and you knew they would spend it on drugs - you may feel compassion for them and give them the money. Pure compassion would sit and talk to them, perhaps buy them some food, and offer to help them out of the situation they are in.

did any of that relate or make sense or did I just go off on a tangent?
