I wouldn't tell him unless he asks. The dog did die, so no you have not lied. Thats the way I see it. If it helps, I want to tell you that my old dog could have been hit by a car the day my mom looked out the window to see her in the street. I had accidently left the back yard gate open, and my mom looked out the window to see her in the street. I am glad she was not hit, but I know what you mean, when you say you didn't understand how the dog made it all the way out to the street. My dog is about the same size as your Snu, she is 20 years old (im suprised shes still alive, 20 is oooold!!) and shes blind and deaf, Im sure she can see movement to some extent but she is so unaware of her surroundings! She can barely smell the food dish right in front of her, so you have to grab her head and put it near the food but being careful she doesnt eat your hand instead of the food.
