I just started DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) & it is supposed to help you regulate your emotions & not be so emotional so that you act inappropriately & rashly due to feeling overwhelmed by them--like I also cry in public or overdose on pills just to try to get rid of the overwhelming painful emotions. The emotions rule me. I need to get them under control & get more rational.
I've been this way since I was 15 & I'm 54 now & this is no way to live. I isolate myself a lot as I don't know if I willbe triggered & have an acute emotional reaction to something.--Suzy
