It must have been so frustrating to hear that. When people tell me fluffy happy &^%$ like that, I just want to scream. Fact is, what we are talking about is a long-term disturbance in our lives, one that most people can't fathom, let alone truly empathize with. Of course she meant well, but it felt like she was invalidating what was a scary experience to you, one that brought back memories of other awful times and a general sense of danger.
