You have wisdom and you care about other people.

Don't let the little critic inside your mind discount your value and the person you are.

Also, I used to allow people to treat me like crap, back in my younger days.

I have learned to say - 'I know when someone wants me to feel bad about myself'

This usually stops them in their tracks.

If that doesn't work, you know you are dealing with some cruelty.

As far as Guys go, in that situation, I think he was trained so long to respond to their chores, that he doesn't stop and think that he has his own family now, and perhaps someone else can do what they want him to do, or he can do something for you before he meets their needs.

Someday, you may get to open his eyes to this, or you will adapt and he will train himself to respond to his family first. Down the road though, when things change, the family will realize he has responsibilities of his own, and they need to get their own handydandy things done by themselves, or find someone else or pay somebody. Or they are going to do this until he is old and starts hurting.

There is no free lunch!. Hey, get that one some tee shirts and let him wear them on those handyman days, lol!
