I did summer school the year we moved from California to Maryland to retake a couple courses to try to improve my grades. I actually liked it as it was a lot more casual and comfortable than regular school and there didn't seem to be as much stress. I made a friend and she and I made friend with the geometry teacher who got engaged and invited us to her wedding and we went. It was kind of nice as I had a really hard time making friends in the usual school year. The summer weather seemed to help instead of all the gloom and doom of winter at school.

I hope you get more comfortable. It goes a little faster than regular, winter classes since it's a bit shorter but I liked that it provided me a focus other than myself and fears, etc.
