Just my 2 cents, there is no psychiatry conspiracy, unstable minds think in distorted ways, being negative, feeling paranoid, and sometimes even becoming out of control. People in such state have a tendency to paint the picture black, trying to destroy the very things or people that are in the world that can help. Anger and frustration within ourselves can trigger us to say negative things about others and/or think constant negative thoughts.
Once one becomes stable, rather or not it requires meds, therapy or both, their lives can improve, if they are willing and compliant, if one resists then it is obvious that the final outcome will be negative. I am not saying all things work the same for everyone, but in most cases some form of therapy and/or meds combined do have positive results, one needs patience during the time the pdoc has you try different meds, sometimes some of us are so lucky that the first one or combo works, on the other hand some take time, but again the outcome in the long run can have many benefits, putting a person back on track

It is frustrating when we are DXed with a disorder or even several, accepting it is hard, but fighting against the help that is out there gets you no where, I know cause in the begining I didn't want to hear of any help, meds, etc.
I felt they were wrong about me and I was going to "fix" myself, I too felt they were just chemically controlling people with meds. you see that was during the time I was unstable, life things were all screwy too, stress level way over the top, mixed with emotions, became the perfect ingrediants for my meltdown. I gave in, I went for treatment, I didn't want to feel so out of control, negative and depressed, so I got help.
I encourage anyone to get help, it works if you work with it, it is a person's choice.
I sincerely wish you and others out there, luck with this all.
Take care,
DE
