quetiapine is the generic name for seroquel.... it has existed for a few years atleast. As far as I know. I took 600 or 800 mg a day. I didn't like the effects bc it caused me to lactated after a while. I guess it can in women and supposedly it is possible in women too... some other meds can too bc some meds can effect levels of prolactin in the body causing u to lactate. Well, by that time I was so sedated from that med and was put on Clozaril overlapping and had a severe allergic reaction to it that I didn't realize it-- Cardiomyopathy. I was in the ICU for a week. The docs didn't explain anything to me bc I wouldn't have remembered or understood and probly wouldn't have been able to take the stress as it was. As it was I wasn't happy with the whole Idea of having albuterol and oxygen and a catheter especially when the staff was inserting it using a flashlight was all but impressed haha. But I'm here to tell the story luckily. My point is be mindful. Yes there is a generic. Just bc it works for one person doesn't work for another and vice versa. Take care all, Danielle
