I wonder if those three pounds are a normal fluctuation for you? Like water weight, etc? Is there exercise you can do that will be gentle for your knee....swimming? stationary bike, maybe?? It's important to eat, and eating 3x/day is far from excessive! I wonder if you can fill up on high density/low calories foods like fruits and veggies and beans?
Good luck. I'm sorry you're feeling discouraged. Remember - gaining 3 pounds is NOT the same as gaining 20, or 50, or 100 pounds. Don't panic.
