Hey everyone I am new to the site and have suffered with depression for years but I am writing in regards to my son. He is 21 and was diagnosed with BP about 4 mths ago. He has taken meds for what we thought was depression in the past with not much help. He was diagnosed after he was arrested for theft from his job. He was taking cymbalta at the time. Now he never really has the major highs. Just the lows, thoughts and weird daydreams and does very crazy things. Like the stealing and lieing ALOT. My question is can bipolar cause the lieing and stealing? He takes lamictal but he does miss doses. I will ask him if he took it or remind him to take it and it causes a big arguement. His court date will be coming up soon and we are not sure how it will go. He still lives at home with us and we are all really struggling. I hope yall don't mind me posting with this. Some sites only want to hear from the patient not the parents but we need help too lol. Thanks everyone for listening and would welcome comments.
