The tornado that you're in... could be indicative of how you are experiencing life right now. In the midst of your own troubles, you are trying to reach out to others and help them, while searching for your own comfort also (the cat?) You seem to feel that you aren't connecting.

Being back home is common, for roots of things you "know" perhaps? The youth pastor, the lake... those are symbols that connect you somehow there. Maybe looking for comfort again?

Sounds to me like you need to get a few things off your plate, and get some rest and self-comfort.
