Hi, I am new to this site. I had severe foot pain until a few weeks ago. I ruptured my right Achilles tendon 4 years ago and had surgery to repair it. The podiatrist moved some of the tendons and ligaments around to strengthen my tendon. The result was that I ended up with nerve entrapment. It is called tarsal tunnel syndrome just like carpal tunnel in the wrist. I had nerve decompression surgery to take pressure off the tarsal nerve. The surgery failed and I was in worse pain. I went from doctor to doctor trying to get help with my foot pain. Standing on it would kill me. Finally, a new pain management doctor recommended that I get a SCS (spinal cord stimulator). It's like an internal TENS unit. I got mine two weeks ago and my pain has decreased 50%. With time, they say I can expect even more relief. You might want to discuss this with your pain doctor. What caused your foot pain? What have you tried?
