I have a tiny "powder room" half bath that is just 30 inches across. I am doing a faux finish in there -- first time I've done this. I decided to do the door, too, and took the doorknob off to paint. And slammed the door behind me!

I get panicky in small spaces. There was a time when I it was hard to even ride in elevators and I still can get panicky if it is slow or airless.

Oh, man, I was so worried I'd die in there before anyone found me. I banged on the door and screamed help me. When I calmed down enough, I realized that the door workings were exposed, so there had to be some way to work the mechanism to spring it to let me out. Eventually, I figured it out and got out -- and taped the place where that door lock thing springs out as well as the place in the wall where it springs into.

I was covered with sweat and felt very shaky.
