I have heard this too, but from an orthopedist. I asked if I was complaining too much about a back injury. He said it probably hurt more than I was letting on; that nature has protected women for childbirth (something I've never done btw) by giving us higher pain tolerance. So yes, your friend is being a big baby. But pretend he is not and put up with it -- because you are glad that he isn't threatening to sue you in our sue-happy world.
