I've had the same T for 7 years now. I've made some progress, but mostly I feel shut down. I had an incident a week and a half ago, and my T wasn't helpful. I knew then that it was time for a change.

I've seen one other T this past week, but didn't click with her. I have an appointment with another T to check her out on Tuesday. We'll see how it goes.

I need a T who is more engaged and wants more from and for me.

I know it's time, too, because I'm not freaking out about leaving current T. I see him for the last time next Wednesday. Just a wrap up session.

Anyone else who's changed T's after such a long time have any advice?

"What is Real? asked the Velveteen Rabbit one day.

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."
