I received crappy care because they sucked.
I'm sure that it depends on the person. Most psychologists I would wager wouldn't go through all that school just to work in student services (unless they didn't want to be held accountable perhaps). In the private sector, patients don't see you and your business stagnates if you aren't any good.
I also don't want to see a graduate student if the "real" therapists have full calendars. I say if you have private insurance, go off campus for a better experience.
