Clyde,
If you have not already done so, yes, I would cite a reference and indicate that a sample size of 8-10 is suggested for a phenomenological research study due to the volume of data collected for each participant. You can actually cite Dr. Klein's dissertation and the look at the references she cited for number of participants in a phenomenological study.
Please revise this and send back to the committee along with the Dissertation Rubric which is attached. Indicate that if they are willing to proceed to the oral defense conference, we can work with the week of August 25 if they can give you days/ times that are convenient for them. The oral conference can take 60-75 minutes. You may want to look at the attached rubric and evaluate your own dissertation proposal, as this is what the committee will be looking at.
You will need to develop a power point presentation that takes about 30 minutes to present your dissertation proposal, and then the committee will have another 30 minutes to ask questions and make suggestions.
Thanks,
Dr. Jay

What this means, is basically my proposal is about done and fini. It still needs form and style once the orals are done, and the IRB, but I am very close to ABD, at least
Closer than ever. Getting tired of saying it, but I am closer than ever
