Oh, boy! I'm with you on that one, too! Along with the independence that I learned, I've often felt that God trusts me to fix what's broken myself. Sometimes I'll ask for His help but I'm still not turning loose of what's broken.
Now, when my kids are in a place where they are vulnerable to dangers and I know there's no way I can do anything about it, even if I was there, I turn loose of that! If they're on the road, flying somewhere, something like that, I just put them in God's hands and trust Him to take care of them.
I guess it's all in knowing the difference between something I can do something about and that which I have no control over? Yeah, that must be it.
